go!LOCAL OTTAWA Goes Local with the Ottawa Senators

    OTTAWA, Feb. 4 /CNW/ - Today, go!LOCAL OTTAWA Community Pages, a Canwest
Directories publication, announced a new promotional initiative with the
Ottawa Senators signalling its commitment to the community by supporting a
local fan favourite. go!LOCAL OTTAWA, supported by the Ottawa Citizen, is an
all-in-one alternative to traditional directories and the only comprehensive
local print and online resource for business listings in the Ottawa region.
    As part of the collaboration, Canwest will launch a go!LOCAL OTTAWA
Senators promotion and a unique presence at Ottawa Senators games for the
local directory over the coming weeks.

they're looking for, while supporting their community and local economy," said

    Kicking off the program, go!LOCAL OTTAWA will host the go!LOCAL OTTAWA
Senators promotion inviting hockey fans throughout the region to enter online
for a chance to win one of three ultimate Ottawa Senators prize packs:

    -  A gallery level suite for 20 with $500 catering for the March 22 game
       versus Toronto;
    -  A gallery level suite for 20 with $500 catering for the April 1 game
       versus Montreal;
    -  One pair of '08/'09 season tickets (300 level seats).

    The contest will be located at www.golocalottawa.ca and runs February 11
to March 14, 2008.

Canwest with the addition of the go!LOCAL OTTAWA Senators promotion," said
Cyril Leeder, Chief Operating Officer of the Senators. "Not only will this
promotion offer Senators fans the chance to win some terrific prizes, but it
will also allow us to partner with a local business in delivering this
opportunity to our fans."
    As part of its goal to encourage Ottawa residents to purchase from and
support community businesses, go!LOCAL OTTAWA was on hand at the Ottawa
Senators' January 31 home game handing out 2,500 free glove-box-sized mini
versions of the Community Pages publication at Scotiabank Place. The directory
is further building on this presence, unveiling in-stadium signage throughout
the building.
    Canwest Directories plans to extend its efforts by working with community
organizations and teams throughout Canada in upcoming go!LOCAL regions. The
next go!LOCAL Community Pages to be launched are currently in development in
Regina, supported by The Leader-Post, and in Saskatoon, supported by The
StarPhoenix, and are scheduled for release in late spring 2008.
    go!LOCAL OTTAWA Community Pages is available in traditional size, an
innovative 5 1/4" by 6" mini version, and online at golocalottawa.ca.
