Golden Dawn Minerals Inc will open to trade on the TSX Venture Exchange August 10, 2007

    VANCOUVER, Aug. 9 /CNW/ - Golden Dawn Minerals Inc. (GOM: TSX-V) (the
"Company") is pleased to advise that its common shares will commence trading
on the TSX Venture Exchange at the opening this Friday August 10, 2007 under
ticker symbol "GOM". The Company currently has 11,413,018 issued and
outstanding shares.
    Coinciding with the listing, Golden Dawn Minerals Inc. (GDM) is
commencing an exploration program on its Swan Property in the Toodogone Region
in North-Central British Columbia.
    The Toodogone region hosts several mines including Northgate's Kemmess
South Mine that currently processes 100,000 tonnes of Ore per day containing
Copper and Gold. GDM will begin a drill program on the Swan property, which is
60 km north of the Kemmess South mine, on or about the second week of August
2007.
    The Swan program in the Toodogone region will include drilling and other
exploration activities with the first drilling results available by the end of
September 2007.
    Parallel to this program, an exploration crew is being mobilized to
commence work on the VMS property located in north-western B.C., about 40 km
south-east of Stewart, B.C. The VMS property is situated in an area that holds
many operating mines, including the famous Eskay Creek Gold Mine. The
potential for the VMS property is for; a massive-sulphide deposit
(Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide or VMS) similar to Eskay Creek, an epithermal
deposit like the Silbak Premier, and an intrusive hosted Gold and Silver
mineralization resembling the Red Mountain and Snowfield Mines.
    Golden Dawn Minerals also holds two large prospective Uranium properties
in Ontario. The Ramsey property, which has multiple Uranium Lake Sediment
geochemical anomalies within the property boundary and the Cobalt Uranium
property, which is prospective for Uranium and Silver and hosts high-grade
veinlets of Uraninite on surface.

    The Geological team of Golden Dawn Minerals Inc. is focused on achieving
exploration results that generates further interest in the Company such that
Golden Dawn Minerals may continue with its finance activities for the fall of
2007. In addition, the Company has acquired a strong and highly experienced
geological consulting team to fulfill on the above stated exploration programs
to include; Dr. Ken Dawson, PhD/P.Geo, Mr. Ed Kimura, P.Geo, Mr. Gerald
Harron, P.Geo (Director), Dr. Stewart Jackson, PhD and Mr. Fayz Yacoub, P.Geo.
