Golden Band Resources update

SASKATOON, Sept. 20 /CNW/ - Golden Band Resources Inc. (GBN: TSXV) is
providing an update on the Bingo summer drilling program and on the expected
timing for the start of gold production from its planned development projects.
Drilling at Bingo this summer consisted of a series of shallow and
intermediate depth holes designed to upgrade inferred to indicated-resource
category mineralization and to fill-in the down-plunge extension of several
mineralized areas, both of which could increase the overall tonnage of the
deposit. The achievement of this objective is subject to confirmation by
The Company is still awaiting the completed assays, including the
metallic screen assays from the summer Bingo drilling program. A total of 45
drillholes were completed and all samples have been submitted for assaying,
and the complete results are expected before the end of September. One
complete consignment of the five consignments submitted to the assay lab has
not been received and only one set of the five consignments of the metallic
screen assay results has been received. Given that the Bingo deposit is known
to contain nuggety gold, the metallic screen assay results are necessary to
provide accurate assaying results, and therefore release of any assay results
will await receipt of all the data.
The Company is encouraged by Bingo drillhole WD-156 where approximately
11 metres (m) (approximately 7.5 m true width) of apparent Bingo deposit-style
quartz vein hosted, sulphide bearing mineralization, with traces of visible
gold, was intersected. This mineralized intersection is approximately 85 m
vertically from surface. This is in an area where there was a gap between
drillholes of approximately 100 m horizontally and 50 m vertically. There is
prior drilling 35 m down plunge of this new drillhole and therefore when the
assays are received this drillhole may confirm a previously interpreted
mineralized zone.
The Company is working towards the making of a production decision by the
first quarter of 2008 for production to begin during 2009. The timing of the
production start is subject to completion of the required work, including an
environmental impact study and review, and receipt of the permits from the
province. Indications from Saskatchewan Environment are that the completion of
their review should be received by December 2008. The objective for the
Company is to start production as soon as possible once the permitting is in
place for the building and operating of mines at Bingo, Komis, EP, and Tower
East and the processing of the ores at the Company's Jolu mill. Cleanup that
has been underway at the millsite during September will be completed by next
week, after which time any further work in the mill will occur in the spring
of 2008. Detailed engineering and design for the planned expansion of the Jolu
mill is underway.
