SASKATOON, April 30 /CNW/ - Golden Band Resources Inc. (GBN:TSXV) is very
pleased to announce that Mr. Archibald J. Nesbitt has agreed to join its Board
of Directors, effective immediately. Ronald Netolitzky, Chairman of the Board,
notes that "Mr. Nesbitt's particular experience and expertise in financing and
junior company promotion are very welcome additions to our Board".
Mr. Nesbitt began his career in resource exploration and development in
1966. In 1969, he was a founder of Nesbitt Mining & Exploration Ltd. and held
positions as President, CEO, CFO, COO, and finally as Chairman of the Board of
that corporation under the name Southpoint Resources Ltd. until December 2004.
Mr. Nesbitt was founder, CEO, and subsequently Chairman of the Board of
Directors of Bakbone Software Inc., and continues as a member of the Board of
Directors. From 1977 to 1984, Mr. Nesbitt was President and COO of the
Calgary, Alberta headquartered Geomex and Minexco Energy group of private
uranium/mining and oil and gas exploration companies, which invested in excess
of $300,000,000 in worldwide resource exploration and development. Currently,
Mr. Nesbitt is a member of the Board of Directors of Abacus Mining &
Exploration Ltd., Dejour Enterprises Ltd., and Northpine Energy Ltd., a
private Alberta oil and gas company. Since 1984 Mr. Nesbitt has been actively
involved internationally in wildlife conservation and the sustained use of
wildlife resources. Mr. Nesbitt holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the
University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queens
Issuing Stock Options
The Board of Directors has approved the issuance of 500,000 options under
the Company's Stock Option Plan. These options, to be granted to a director,
will be priced at $0.21 per share, and will vest in accordance with TSX
Venture Exchange guidelines.
