Gold Star Resources Corp. Announces New Board Members


    VANCOUVER, Aug. 26 /CNW/ -- Gold Star Resources Corp. (TSX-V; GXX; OTC
Bulletin Board: GXXFF;  today announced  that Peter
G. Wilson, President of Hana Mining Ltd. (TSXV:HMG), and Robert G. Dinning, a
Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Paramount Gold & Silver Corp.
have joined GXX's Board of Directors. Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in
project development, finance and contract negotiations, as well as strategic
planning within the energy resource and mining industries.  Mr. Dinning is a
Chartered Accountant with 40 years experience in both the public and private
sector.  Gold Star Resources is a Canadian oil and gas exploration company
focused on seeking onshore opportunities in the petroleum systems of West

"Peter Wilson's leadership and vision as President of Hana Mining Ltd. is of
great importance to us.  Peter's insight into corporate strategic planning is
vital to Gold Star Resources' West African onshore oil and gas exploration
plans.  His professional career in project development and financing options
will assist Gold Star management decisions in the days ahead.  Aside from
being President of Hana Mining Ltd., Peter also co-founded Azure Resources
(now Pencari Mining) in 2003 and was Vice President Operations from 2003-2005.

Vancouver, B.C., Canada.  Hana Mining Ltd. owns the rights to a large
copper-silver deposit in Botswana, Africa known as the Ghanzi Project.

    Morris also praised the appointment of Robert Dinning to the Gold Star
Resources Board. "Robert Dinning brings effective management and
administrative experience to Gold Star.  His proven record of success in the
financial community includes a top-tier position with KPMG, the international
accounting firm.  He was also an Investment Specialist at Roynat, Montreal,
Quebec, an investment banking firm originally owned by the Royal Bank of
Canada, as well as being Director and Chief Financial Officer of Apollo Gold &
Energy Inc. and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of
Industrial Minerals, Inc.  Mr. Dinning resides in Vancouver, B.C., Canada."

    Gold Star Resources has emerged onto the West Africa scene in the past
few months seeking onshore acreage in Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana.  The
company recently announced a Letter-of-Intent with Bengal Bight Ghana Ltd., a
Ghanaian company, to acquire 100% interest in the hydrocarbon rights of
Bengal's 1,000 sq. km. Tiampoum mining concession in Cote d'Ivoire, near the
border with Ghana. Gold Star acquired 90% of the Liberian, West African
company International Resource Strategies Liberia Energy Inc., whose sole
asset is the onshore 1,366 sq. km. hydrocarbon reconnaissance license NR-001
with the Roberts and Bassa Basins of south coastal Liberia.
