/NOT FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES OR FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S.
VANCOUVER, Aug. 22 /CNW/ - GMV Minerals Inc. (the "Company") (TSX-V:GMV)
is pleased to announce that it has completed 6 of a proposed 30 hole diamond
drill program on its 100% owned Nechako gold-silver project in Central British
All drillholes were targeted at ground geophysical I.P. changeability
highs on 2 of the 11 proposed grids. The grids are targeted to correspond with
favourable geology and geochemistry. None of the grids are marked by surface
showings and the company is essentially drilling new targets through glacial
overburden and assessing the geological systems.
Of the 6 holes, the highlights came from holes 1, 5, and 6. Both holes 1
and 6 intersected anomalous silver and gold values (21.5 g/t Ag and 0.45 g/t
Au over 1.5m - hole 1, and 26.8 g/t Ag/0.31 g/t Au over 1.0m and 0.47 g/t Au
and 15.2 g/t Ag over 1.0m in hole 6)
From top to bottom of all the holes a well mineralized system consisting
of variable amounts of pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and marcasite were
intersected which helps explain the chargeability target. No distinct trace
element trends were detached. The rock units were all felsic and intermediate
volcanic flows, tuffs and breccias.
Hole 5 was interesting in that it intersected anomalous copper over the
entire length to 327m. Values were up to 858ppm. The geology was considerably
more porphyritic and a review of all data suggests that the company may be on
the verge of a newly discovered porphyry system. Further work is required to
properly assess this anomaly.
The company is presently mobilizing a prospecting crew to systematically
assess other known geological and geophysical targets prior to a
recommencement of diamond drilling in the fall.

gold exploration in central British Columbia. The Company is currently
drilling its 100% owned Alexis Creek gold showings where it has identified
several geophysical anomalies located at depth which show the characteristics
of an epithermal style mineralized body.
