Globe and Mail talks extended to Thursday with help of special mediator

    TORONTO, June 29 /CNW/ - Company and union negotiators have agreed to a
special mediation with veteran labour mediator William Kaplan. The meeting
will take place this Thursday and there will be no strike, lockout or
work-to-rule action earlier than midnight Thursday. The company will not
implement its offer or suspend any part of the collective agreement earlier
than that deadline.
    A news blackout on contract talks will be honoured until the deadline.
