Gennum Taps Semiconductor Expert Klaus Mueller as Senior Vice-President of Global Sales

    Industry veteran will expand global sales for Gennum's video, data
    communications and audio products

    BURLINGTON, ON, March 12 /CNW/ - Continuing its efforts to increase its
global market presence and expand its customer base, Gennum Corporation (TSX:
GND) appointed industry veteran Klaus Mueller as its Senior Vice-President of
Global Sales. In this newly created position, Mueller will be responsible for
strengthening existing relationships and identifying and developing new
opportunities for Gennum's image processing products, high speed data
communications products and wireless offerings for the audio space.

    As Senior Vice-President of Global Sales, Mueller will be responsible for
building a world-class sales organization, including the expansion of Gennum's
presence in China, Korea and Taiwan with new sales and technical support
offices. Gennum's expanded presence in these key markets is central to the
company's continued success in delivering semiconductor solutions that drive
next generation video broadcast, consumer image processing, data
communications and audio products.

    About Klaus Mueller
    Mueller brings 25 years plus of semiconductor sales and operations
experience to Gennum, having most recently served as Vice-President of ZMD AG,
a mixed signal semiconductor company based in Germany. In this role, he was
responsible for the general management of ZMD's Wireless Sensor Network and
Standard product lines on a global base. Prior to ZMD, Mueller was President
of WBC GmbH, a leading pan-European technical distributor, where he was
responsible for the company's successful regional expansion across Europe.
Mueller also held various senior level management positions with Motorola in
Sales, Operation and Global project teams, managing world-class accounts and
driving its semiconductor sales efforts in Europe and in the US and Japan.
    Mr. Mueller received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 from the
Bingen College of Engineering in Germany.
