GARDASIL ad campaign for women - Women encouraged to ask doctor if vaccine is right for them

MONTREAL, Aug. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - Starting this week and continuing until
the end of the year, a new national publicity campaign for the GARDASIL(R)
vaccine will air on Canadian television and be seen in other media across the
country. Targeting young women (and their parents) for whom GARDASIL(R) is
indicated, the program aims to initiate a dialogue between young women and
their physicians about whether or not the vaccine is right for them.
"Over the last few weeks, there has been heightened media attention
around Gardasil. We hope our new advertising campaign will contribute to this
dialogue and encourage women to talk to their doctors," said Sheila Murphy
from Merck Frosst. "Young women have been receiving information about
GARDASIL(R) from a great variety of sources and we feel the best way for them
to sort out fact from fiction is to talk to their doctors."
