Starting today, Future Shop's Holiday Media Policy grants media access to
local Future Shop locations with approval from store managers
BURNABY, BC, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - In the hustle and bustle of the season,
Future Shop is opening its doors to media for their holiday and Boxing Day
stories without receiving prior approval of Future Shop's Head Office.
Effective December 21 until December 27, members of the media from newspapers,
radio and television can work directly with Future Shop's store managers to
secure approvals for shooting in-store interviews or footage for holiday and
Boxing Day news stories.
Reporters must obtain approval from a store manager prior to shooting in
a store. Media are to ask for the General Manager or Operations Manager at
Customer Service. The decision of approving a request is up to the discretion
of the individual manager. While we try to accommodate media requests, please
understand that our stores are extremely busy during the holiday season and
our first priority is to serve our customers.
This policy does not include requests from vendors, students, advertising
firms, or any other filming requests that are not directly related to the news
media who are in-store for holiday stories. Store managers who have questions
about this policy can call the Communications Team listed below.
Store hours and locations are listed on futureshop.ca. For Boxing Day
stories, please arrive 20 - 30 minutes before the store opens to capture the
line up, and to speak with a store manager to set up inside before the store
opens for the busiest shopping day of the year.
