Further Details on Major Junior Hockey Club Coming to Verdun

    VERDUN, March 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Further to the press conference held this
morning by the directors of the new Montréal Junior Hockey Club, Verdun
Borough Mayor Claude Trudel hereby wishes to provide certain additional
information on the possibility of welcoming this team to the Verdun
    As announced on January 23, only an agreement in principle has been
signed and negotiations are still under way in order to reach an official
    Mr. Trudel once again mentioned that it is "premature, at this point in
time, to speculate on the type of improvements or renovations that might be
made to the present building in order to meet the requirements of the future
tenants. These aspects are part of the discussions that are now taking place".
In order not to say anything that would prove detrimental to these
negotiations, Mayor Trudel is refusing to make any comments in this regard,
until a final, official agreement has been signed. He nevertheless did point
out that the negotiations are being carried out in a favourable atmosphere and
he said he was confident of being able to welcome the Montréal Junior Hockey
Club to the Auditorium next fall.
