Funding Announcement from Canada Economic Development

MONTREAL, June 15 /CNW Telbec/ - Montréal International (MI) is delighted

Economic Development (CED). This contribution covers the current period until
the first quarter of 2011. This financial support, which will allow MI to
continue implementing its triennial 2008-2010 plan, was announced today by the
Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for the Economic Development Agency
of Canada for the Regions of Québec, during a news conference held in
"We are extremely grateful to the Government of Canada for its
contribution in funding our economic development and international promotion
activities for the Greater Montréal area," declared André Gamache, Montréal
International President and CEO. "This major support from Canada Economic
Development allows us to finalize our government funding for the next two
years. I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Minister Denis Lebel for
his continued support in promoting the prosperity, competitiveness and
international recognition of Greater Montréal," stated Mr. Gamache.
Since its inception, Montréal International contributed to attract more
than $7 billion of direct foreign investments in Greater Montréal, which have

organization. "Today's announcement is of strategic importance and comes at a
very opportune time. Current economic conditions require a concerted effort on
the part of the various stakeholders to support the vitality and prosperity of
the Greater Montréal region, the driving economic force for Québec. Minister
Lebel has shown himself acutely aware of this reality, and not only
enthusiastically renewed funding for Montréal International, but also agreed
to provide financial support for the duration of our triennial plan," added
Mr. Gamache.
"In addition to this precious support from the Government of Canada,
Montréal International also receives financial contributions from the
Government of Québec, the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (Montréal
