Fraud Prevention Month 2007: Free Consumer Guide to Payment Cards

MasterCard Introduces New online Resource for Canadians

TORONTO, March 13 /CNW/ - It's a little piece of plastic we use everyday
but most Canadians don't think too much about how their MasterCard credit and
debit cards work. As a member of the Fraud Prevention Forum, and as part of
Fraud Prevention Month (March), MasterCard Canada has created Exchange: A
Guide to Understanding Payment Cards. This 21-page resource covers topics
including: how to choose a credit card; protecting yourself from fraud; and
new developments in payment cards.

Exchange: A Guide to Understanding Payment Cards is available as a free

"Knowledge is power. The more Canadians know about how their credit card
works, the more powerful tool it will be in their financial life," said
Jennifer Reed, Vice President, Public Affairs, MasterCard Canada. "Payment
cards are a tool for making everyday purchases, and arming consumers with the
basic knowledge of what happens behind the scenes means they can better
protect themselves from potential fraud."
