    Premier McGuinty Shuffles Parliamentary Assistants In Key Portfolios

    TORONTO, Oct. 3 /CNW/ -


    The Ontario government renewed its commitment to a strong economy and
safe communities, assigning new responsibilities to four MPPs.
    The following MPPs will serve as parliamentary assistants to ministers of
the provincial cabinet:

    -   Monte Kwinter, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of
        International Trade and Investment

    -   Jean-Marc Lalonde, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of
        Economic Development

    -   Dave Levac, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Community
        Safety and Correctional Services

    -   Yasir Naqvi, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Revenue.


    "We have the right plan and the right team in place to focus on what
matters to Ontarians. Working together, we can build a stronger and safer
province," said Premier Dalton McGuinty.


    -   Parliamentary assistants work with ministers to advance key
        priorities within their portfolios.

    -   There are a total of 34 parliamentary assistants.
