Flint announces appointment to Board of Directors

    CALGARY, Aug. 10 /CNW/ - John Geddes, Chairman of the Board of Flint
Energy Services Ltd. ("Flint") today announced that Mr. Roger Thomas has been
appointed to its Board of Directors effective August 5, 2009. Mr. Thomas has
over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including a 29 year
career with Nexen Inc. where he most recently served as Executive Vice
President, North America from November 2007 until his retirement on June 30,
2009. Mr. Thomas, a resident of Calgary, Alberta, attended both the University
of Toronto and York University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Economics/History. He is also a graduate of the Executive Program at the
University of Michigan and is an honourary member of APEGGA. Mr. Thomas is a
past Chair of the Alberta Chamber of Resources, past Chair of the Canadian
Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), past Chair of The Nature
Conservancy of Canada (Saskatchewan Region), past Division Co-Chair for the
Calgary United Way (Engineering, Energy Services Supply Division), past
Director of The Adult Learning Centre, Ranch Ehrlo Foundation, The Calgary
Science Centre, The Canadian Petroleum Hall of Fame Society and The Petroleum
Technology Research Centre. He was a member of the Premier's recent Carbon
Capture and Storage Council and former Chairman of the Canadian Oilmen's
Executive Association. Active in industry and community associations, Mr.
Thomas is currently the Chair of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and also
serves as a Director of Careers: The Next Generation.
    Mr. Geddes said, "Roger brings specific industry experience and senior
management expertise to our existing board of directors that will certainly
complement and strengthen the base we currently have."
