Anniversary Collector's Issue Hits Newsstands This Week
TORONTO, Aug. 11 /CNW/ - FLARE, Canada's Fashion Authority celebrates its
30th Anniversary today by unveiling the best of FLARE in a stunning September
issue. 30 years of the hottest fashion, beauty and celebrity are commemorated
with an extensive look back at FLARE's history, while embracing today's
fashion elite including cover model Daria Werbowy. The world's top super model
is one of Canada's greatest exports and graces not only the main cover, but
also appears on two bonus covers - a triple-cover first for FLARE.
"For three decades FLARE has remained the style authority for Canadian
women, offering a uniquely Canadian view and inspiring readers to create their
own personal style," said Kerry Mitchell, Publisher FLARE. "The 264-page
September issue is sure to be savoured as a collector's edition by fashion
lovers across the country."
As Canada's first fashion & beauty magazine with a uniquely Canadian view
on the world, FLARE's record of leadership is enviable:
- Launching modeling careers, showcasing iconic beauties and A-list
celebrities on its covers including Keira Knightley, Gwen Stefani,
Julianne Moore and Kate Hudson - securing its reputation as the
Canadian first choice for editorial exclusives.
- Delivering premier content and award-winning design. To
commemorate its 30th Anniversary FLARE commissioned an innovative
new font derived from a classic fashion font from the 70's. FLARE
Roman makes its debut in the September issue.
- Reporting from red-carpets and the world's most exciting runways,
FLARE has always been Canada's most trusted resource for fashion
advice. This special edition continues the focus on visionaries of
fashion with special sections featuring the top-10 most
influential designers of the past 30 years; a portfolios of the
most exciting emerging Canadian designers and Canada's current
avant-garde: seven Canadian labels taking the international
fashion world by storm.
"FLARE has always been a champion of Canadian talent and we have
continued this commitment to celebrate the diversity of Canada and our readers
in every issue," commented Lisa Tant, editor-in-chief of FLARE. " We are proud
to honour our 30 year history, but we stay focused on the future. We're
excited to continue to serve our audience as Canada's fashion authority at
FLARE and FLARE.com."
The special 30th Anniversary September issue will be supported by
magazine, television and radio advertising as well as retail promotion.
FLARE.com has launched new 30th Anniversary sections including FLARE's Top 30
Covers and Top 30 Looks from the Fall Collections. And this week, Lisa Tant
begins her weekly blog on FLARE.com reporting as an exclusive insider about
the Canadian, North American and international fashion scenes.
At 264 pages, and a must-have price of $1.99 the 30th Anniversary special
collector's issue hit newsstands across Canada yesterday and will be fêted
this evening at an invitation-only reception in Toronto followed by a party in
