will see the benefits from today's joint funding announcement by Prime
Minister Harper and Premier McGuinty. The Government of Canada and the
Province of Ontario will provide up to $500 million to support major GO
Transit infrastructure projects, including new parking structures, expanding
parking facilities, and reliability enhancements.
"This is a major boost for GO Transit and our customers," said GO
Chairman Peter Smith. "In the years ahead, this joint investment will provide
real, noticeable improvements across the GO network, and make the commute
better for our growing ridership. We're very pleased with this announcement."
