Father's Day is Gadget Day

    Survey shows that dads want electronics and quality time with their
    families on June 15th

    TORONTO, ON and BURNABY, BC, June 6 /CNW/ - Skip the ties and tools this
Father's Day and pick up the gadgets and gizmos he really wants. Future Shop,
Canada's largest retailer and e-tailer of consumer electronics, is helping
Canadians take the guesswork out of Father's Day shopping. A recent survey(*)
commissioned by Future Shop, and conducted by AskingCanadians.com, indicates
electronics are the gifts dads crave this year.
    More than 550 Canadian dads were surveyed and stated the following two
electronics as their top Father's Day gift choices:

    -   A flat-panel LCD HDTV to maximize their entertainment experience
        (42 per cent)
    -   A GPS navigation system to direct them on their adventures
        (15 per cent)

    The survey also shows that 58 per cent of dads would like to spend time
with their family on Father's Day, followed by watching sports on television
or from the home theatre room (30 per cent). Whether it's viewing a movie,
enjoying sports or playing video games, dads want quality time with their
loved ones.

        Shop between May 30, 2008 and June 4, 2008, among a national sample
        of 1,001 adults 18 years of age and older, 764 were men, of which
        571 were fathers who have children.
