VANCOUVER, May 27 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Paralympic Committee is
pleased to announce that Chantal Petitclerc will be the keynote speaker at a
luncheon on June 12th, 2009.
In a career spanning 17 years, Chantal has won 21 Paralympic medals in
Wheelchair racing, including 14 gold medals, and is currently the world and
Paralympic record holder in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m. At the 2008
Beijing Paralympic Games, Chantal won five gold medals, and set two new world
records as well as a Paralympic record.
In her address, Chantal will tell the story of her incredible career as
one of Canada's most successful athletes. She will also discuss the legacy of
recognition for Paralympic Sport and increased support for sport by persons
with a disability that she hopes to see in Canada as a result of the 2010
Paralympic Winter Games.
