Etobicoke winery wins gold, bronze medals in international wine competition

    TORONTO, June 6 /CNW/ - Bloor West Winery received 2 gold and 3 bronze
medals in the 2008 Winemaker International Amateur Wine Competition, placing
it in the "top 50" on premise wineries in North America and the No.1 winery in
Toronto's west end.
    This year's wine competition was the largest of any kind - commercial or
consumer made - in North America.
    4,321 different wines from 48 American states, 8 Canadian provinces and
4 other countries were judged in the competition using the UC Davis 20-point
wine scale evaluating appearance, aroma, taste, aftertaste and overall

    All of these wines were made at Bloor West Winery using the standard
winemaking instructions and filtered water. None of the wine recipes were
