Ernst & Young partner Diane Blais receives the Ordre des Francophones d'Amérique

    MONTREAL, March 13 /CNW/ - Ernst & Young is proud to announce that
Diane Blais, Partner and National Director, Translation/Communications
Practice, was awarded the Ordre des francophones d'Amérique last night at a
ceremony at the National Assembly. Each year, the Ordre recognizes individuals
for their outstanding commitment to the promotion and advancement of the
French language. This is the first time since the Ordre's inception that this
prize has been bestowed on a figure from the business community.
    "Throughout her career, Diane has maintained the highest standards of
excellence in the use of French as a business language," stated
Sylvain Vincent, Québec Managing Partner at Ernst & Young. "Her commitment and
perseverance have been pivotal to our success in providing translation and
communications services alongside our assurance, tax, transaction and advisory
    Diane Blais held a number of positions before becoming the first
professional translator to be made a partner in a Canadian chartered
accounting firm. She now leads a team of nationally and internationally
recognized professionals providing translation and financial communication
services to Ernst & Young's clients.
    Highly respected at Ernst & Young for providing this national practice
with strong leadership, Diane also chairs Ernst & Young's Francization
Committee, that ensures the firm's 13 Canadian offices the highest quality
French language communications. Her achievements with the new Ordre des
traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec - where she was
president from its inception - and her contribution over the years to the
advancement of quality in language are a great source of pride for Ernst &
