Ernst & Young Leader Joins Forces with Volunteer Canada, Urges Others to Follow Suit

    TORONTO, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - Trading in suits and ties for work boots and
jeans, Ernst & Young local managing partner Deanna Monaghan joined more than a
dozen leaders from Ottawa's business community who came together today to
create an outdoor learning space and garden at the Boys and Girls Club of
Ottawa clubhouse.
    This Corporate Council on Volunteering initiative is part of the
Volunteer Canada program, which has become one of the largest corporate
volunteerism activities in the country; creating an excellent opportunity to
put corporate philosophy into action.
    "Our Ernst & Young Volunteer Advantage program supports partners and
staff who volunteer in the community and give their time to make life a little
brighter for those around them," explained Deanna Monaghan, who represented
Ernst & Young by volunteering in today's project. "This particular project is
very special to me; it's allowed us to offer local kids a special place of
their own, and protect the environment at the same time."
    Today's event is the first of three other volunteer activities that will
benefit different Boys and Girls Club locations across Canada this fall. More
