EPCOR Power Equity Ltd. announces appointment and resignation of directors

    EDMONTON, Feb. 15 /CNW/ - EPCOR Power Equity Ltd. (TSX: EPP.PR.A) (the
Company) announced today that W. J. (Bill) Kenny has joined the Company's
Board of Directors as an independent director. Bill Kenny is a Partner at
Miller Thomson LLP, one of Canada's largest national law firms.
    The Company also announced the resignation of Robert J. (Bob) Normand as
a director of the Company, effective February 15, 2008. Mr. Normand's decision
to resign from the Board is a result of potential conflicts arising from a
recent appointment to a Board of another publicly traded entity.
    "Bill Kenny's extensive legal experience, including his
nationally-recognized expertise in securities and commercial law, will be an
asset to the Board," said Brian Vaasjo, Chairman of EPCOR Power Equity Ltd.'s
Board. "I would also like to thank Bob Normand for his efforts and commitment
to the Company during his period as a director."
    Bill Kenny is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a
founding Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. During the
past four consecutive years, Lexpert Magazine has listed him as one of the 500
Leading Lawyers in Canada in both commercial litigation and construction law.
He was also listed as one of the Best Lawyers in Canada, 2007, for
Construction Law, Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Director and Officer
Liability, Insurance Law, Bet the Company Litigation, and Securities
Litigation. He is a past member of the Law Society of Alberta Audit, Finance
and Insurance Committees.

Alberta on June 26, 1998 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the EPCOR Power
L.P. (the Partnership). The Corporation operates as a holding company and
