TORONTO, Aug. 13 /CNW/ - Entertainment Tonight Canada today announced the
return of its hugely popular broadcast and event-based offerings for the 33rd
Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Once again, ET Canada's signature Festival Central coverage will set the
pace for Entertainment News operations across Canada. With a market-leading
editorial edge, fans, stars and studio bosses alike trust ET Canada to deliver
each day's most authoritative mix of celebrity interviews, the hottest red
carpets, chic cocktailers, fashion profiles - and the industry muscle to get
inside exclusive TIFF news as it happens.
Beginning September 4th, ET Canada Host Cheryl Hickey, along with Co-Host
Rick Campanelli and Correspondents Roz Weston, Kim D'Eon, Rosey Edeh and Erin
Cebula bring it all to life each evening at 7:00pm & 11:30pm ET on Global
Television, with regular highlights on demand at www.globaltv.com.
"We are truly going from strength to strength," said Tamara Simoneau, Sr.
Executive Producer, ET Canada. "With a solid foundation of success, ET Canada
is set to create a TIFF experience that is bigger and better than ever."
With headquarters at the ET Canada Media Lounge in Yorkville, established
and emerging stars will be interviewed in stylish Entertainment Tonight Canada
tradition. A complete rundown of ET Canada's exclusive-access shooting
locations will be announced in the days to come.
The crowning jewel in ET Canada's TIFF rollout is the reprise of The ET
Canada Studio Lounge at Casa Loma. Recognised as the Festival's most
compelling television broadcast space, 'Studio Lounge' returns as the
centrepiece of a sparkling multi-night roster of private events September
8-11. For the third exciting year, Entertainment Tonight Canada will be
joining with key studios to celebrate the best of TIFF, and along with event
partner Liberty Entertainment Group, honour a who's-who of special guests. The
visual grandeur of this iconic Toronto landmark sets a striking tone that will
delight both international guests and Canadian viewers nationwide.
"ET Canada continues to forge relationships with the film community both
in Canada and abroad, and we welcome the opportunity to celebrate and
interpret their achievements for the ET Canada audience," said Barbara
Williams, Executive Vice President Content, CanWest Broadcasting.
Notably, The ET Canada Studio Lounge concept marks a significant coup on
the TIFF landscape - being the first Entertainment News brand to partner with
major film studios (2006), combining a high-profile celebration of top films
with a proprietary broadcast lounge.
"Bringing the ET Canada Studio Lounge back to Casa Loma will be a
thrill," said Nick Di Donato, ET Canada Studio Lounge Event Producer and
Liberty Group CEO. "Along with ET Canada, we have re-imagined a sweeping,
glamorous event that's fast becoming a TIFF tradition, embraced by the
international film and entertainment community."
Stay tuned in the days to come for details on the complete roster of
events, including film partners, cast information, sponsor updates and more.
