OTTAWA, June 27, 2011 /CNW/ - New data from the 2010 National Physician Survey (NPS) will be made public on June 27, 2011. The NPS is Canada's largest survey of physicians and physicians-in-training.

The NPS is conducted jointly by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Royal College), with a financial contribution from the Canadian Institute for Health Information.

The data provides meaningful information on attitudes among the country's present and future doctors toward a wide range of critical issues. Approximately 12,000 practising physicians responded to the 2010 NPS. The NPS is conducted every three years. Previous surveys were carried out in 2004 and 2007. http://www.nationalphysiciansurvey.ca/nps/

Embargoed copies of the results will be available to the media at 8:00 am (Eastern) on June 23, 2011. For an embargoed copy, please contact: Karen Bennett at 1-888-473-3582
