OTTAWA, Feb. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - Ottawa's Elmwood School student Prashanthi Baskaran has been awarded a 2007 Wendy's Classic Achiever Scholarship. In recognition of scholastic excellence, participation in extracurricular activities and giving back to her community, Wendy's Restaurants of Canada presented the $5,000 award to Ms. Baskaran today. One of 30 students who received the scholarship nationwide, the award also recognizes Elmwood School with a $1,000 award. Over 10,000 students applied for the award. Each year Wendy's Restaurants of Canada honours graduating senior high students who work hard at their studies and in serving their neighbourhoods and communities. Recipients of Wendy's Classic Achiever Scholarships are well-rounded Canadian high school students who excel in scholastic achievement, extracurricular activity, and community involvement. "I am thrilled to be a recipient of this scholarship," remarked Ms. Baskaran.
