EDC provides $ 35 million in credit to Calgary's Trican

    OTTAWA, June 24 /CNW Telbec/ - Export Development Canada (EDC) today
announced it has provided CAD 35 million in financing to Trican Well Service
Ltd. (Trican), a Calgary-based company that is the world's fourth largest
oilfield pressure pumping company.
    "EDC's support for Trican is an excellent example of a Canadian exporter
maximizing the diversity of their exports in key markets like the Middle East
and Eastern Europe, and taking advantage of the growth opportunities that are
still there," said Stephen Poloz, Senior Vice-President, Financing Group, EDC.
    The financing will be used for international capital expenditures and
will help Trican support growth opportunities in existing foreign markets and
to expand into new markets.
