to announce that the 2007 Founder's Award will be presented to Dr. Jean-Guy
Mongeau, Nephrologist, at the closing Gala for the Founder's Award Campaign
under the Honorary Chairmanship of Tony Loffreda, Regional Vice-President,
Commercial Financial Services, Quebec West, RBC Royal Bank. The Gala takes
place at Le Windsor in Montreal on November 15, 2007.
Dr. Jean-Guy Mongeau is one of Quebec's leading figures in the field of
pediatric nephrology. He spent his career at CHU Sainte-Justine where he
founded the Department of Nephrology. In addition to his important work at the
clinical level, he also co-founded the Dialysis and Kidney transplant
Departments and conducted several research projects on high blood pressure in
children. Dr. Mongeau has dedicated twenty years to The Kidney Foundation of
Canada, as a member of the board, medical advisor and provincial
The Founder's Award Campaign is the Corporate Campaign of The Kidney
Foundation of Canada and was launched in 1991 to pay tribute to the
Foundation's Founding President, Mr. Arthur "Ike" Boidman. Since then,
prominent business and medical personalities have been honoured and have
received the Founder's Award.
This year's Campaign Chairman, Mr. Luciano D'Ignazio, CA, Partner at
Schwartz Levitsky Feldman, is hopeful to surpass the $750 000 mark raised in
