    Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre Campaign kick-off - Kansei e no Michi -
    Pathway to completion

    Who?    Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre - the largest cultural outside
            of Japan

    What?   Kick off of The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre's $4.5 million
            fundraising campaign and celebrate a landmark contribution

    Where?  6 Garamond Court (East of Don Mills Road, north of Eglinton
            Avenue East, off Wynford Drive), 416-441-2345

    When?   11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 15, 2007

    Why?    Guests and members of the community will to kick off the final
            phase of construction of the new Japanese Canadian Cultural
            Centre with the traditional painting of a Daruma's left eye to
            symbolize the beginning of a wish and the rising of the sun.

            Speakers, performances and participants to include:
            -  James Heron, Executive director of the Japanese Canadian
               Cultural Centre
            -  Marty Kobayashi, Director, Private Client Group, Dundee
               Capital and President JCCC
            -  Yone Kobayashi
            Koto performers Linda Caplan and Jane Clarke, Canadian pianist
            David Braid, American jazz cellist Matt Brubeck, electronic
            organist Annette Wong and drummer Mark Kelso and ikebana display
            by Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Toronto

    This final phase of the over $13 million National Building Together
Campaign will include construction of a Heritage centre, archive, tea room and
activity rooms for the very active 4200 plus members of the Japanese Canadian
