Do your part: help an entrepreneur help the economy

Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) 2009

TORONTO, April 16 /CNW/ - There are only two weeks left until nominations
close for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards.
Interest in the program is up significantly this year as we approach
April 30 - the deadline to nominate an inspiring individual during a time in
our economy's history when entrepreneurial thinking is most valuable. This
year's online nomination process makes it easier than ever:
"We're looking for that entrepreneurial spark to help ignite the
economy," says Colleen McMorrow, National Director of Ernst & Young
Entrepreneur Of The Year.
"Entrepreneurs have the vision, drive and passion to take risks and
create new solutions for existing problems. Supporting entrepreneurism in
Canada and around the world can help propel the economy forward."
This is Ernst & Young's 16th year launching the awards in Canada. The
global program looks for Canadian entrepreneurs who have demonstrated
excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial
performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
McMorrow is hoping this year's program proves to be the biggest and best
yet. And it's well on its way to reaching that goal, with nominations flowing
in through the new online nomination form.
In addition to nominating others, self-nominations are also encouraged,
and there is no fee. Application forms must be received by April 30, 2009. To
be eligible, the nominee must be an owner/manager of a private or public
organization who is primarily responsible for the company's recent performance
and an active member of top management. The nominee's company must be at least
two years old.
