Discovery Air subsidiary, Great Slave Helicopters, takes delivery of first Eagle Single helicopter

LONDON, ON, June 6 /CNW/ - David Taylor, Chairman, President & C.E.O. of
Discovery Air Inc., ("DA"), is pleased to announce that DA's wholly owned
subsidiary Great Slave Helicopters Ltd., ("GSHL"), has taken delivery of the
first Eagle Single helicopter from Eagle Copters Ltd., of Calgary Alberta on
Tuesday, June 5, 2007. Additionally GSHL will take delivery of the second
Eagle Single, under a lease agreement, June 6, 2007.
The Eagle Single is a Bell 212 helicopter platform which has undergone
the Single Conversion (Eagle Single) type design change. This revolutionary
conversion program decreases the aircraft's empty weight and materially
increases its useful load capabilities as well as delivers notably enhanced
operating efficiencies.
Mr. Taylor commented, "Essentially the Eagle Single represents a new
entrant into the Medium Lift Helicopter segment which will bring unprecedented
operational performance and flexibility to our customers in the various niche
helicopter markets that we serve throughout Canada. The acquisition of this
helicopter demonstrates the effectiveness of DA's business strategy to provide
its operating subsidiaries with the necessary capital to accomplish asset
purchases that will contribute to sustained competitive advantage."
Adam Bembridge, President & CEO of GSHL further commented, "We see
unlimited potential for this aircraft in the forest fire suppression market.
To our knowledge it is currently the only rotary-wing aircraft with the
lifting capacity to accommodate a complete fire crew and their equipment, plus
carry an adequate fuel load to support extended range initial attack forest
fire suppression missions. This enhanced capability is a tribute to the
progressive nature and technical competency of Mike O'Reilly and his dedicated
team of professionals at Eagle Copters."
Discovery Air's mission is to build shareholder value by creating an
alliance of profitable aviation businesses that can realize synergies,
economies of scale and deliver safe, professional air services to clients in
selected niche markets.
