DHX Media Announces New Preschool Series

    AIM and TSX: DHX

HALIFAX, Jan. 8 /CNW/ - DHX Media Ltd. (AIM & TSX ticker: "DHX"), a
leading independent international producer and distributor of television
programming and interactive content, announces the commissioning of a new
preschool television series entitled Animal Mechanicals. The series of 40,
15 minute episodes is produced by DHX Media's Halifax Film unit, and
distributed by DHX Media's DECODE Enterprises unit. The series has been
commissioned by the CBC, which has been granted broadcast rights for Canada
for six years, while DHX Media retains the rights to the series for all other
jurisdictions. Delivery of the series' episodes is expected to commence this
Michael Donovan, Chairman and CEO of DHX Media commented, "We are very
proud to introduce Animal Mechanicals and its characters who rise to
challenges put before them by transforming into "super" versions of
themselves. The series offers entertaining content but with a curriculum-based
approach, as do most of the children's shows on our production slate and in
our library, such as Bo On the Go, SuperWHY! and the award-winning POKO. The
show reinforces for kids the enduring life lesson that challenges are fun
which we expect will help Animal Mechanicals to generate recurring library
distribution revenue for many years to come."

    About Animal Mechanicals

Animal Mechanicals is an action/adventure series for preschoolers that
combines the excitement of monster truck rallies with the fantastic world of
mythical animals on cool quests. Animal Mechanicals live and play in a place
unlike any other: a colorful "snap-together-take-apart" world. Their world can
also transform, just like the Animal Mechanicals themselves. Things are always
popping up, changing shape and, most of all, presenting challenges to the
Animal Mechanicals. Nothing is impossible for the Animal Mechanicals.
