Desjardins partners with the Semaine québécoise des rencontres interculturelles (Québec Intercultural Week) and the Rallye de la diversité (Diversity Rally)

To bring people of all origins closer together in Québec

LEVIS, QC, Sept. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Group is proud to partner
with the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles for the
sixth edition of the Semaine québécoise des rencontres interculturelles
(Québec Intercultural Week), which will run from September 28 to October 5,
2008. Set to the theme "Ici, on s'interculturalise" (Here, we discover other
cultures), this week will highlight the importance of bringing together people
of all origins in Québec.
Desjardins, already very much involved in cultural communities, will make
the most of the activities that will take place throughout the week to
recognize the strength and wealth of diversity in our society. As the largest
private employer in Québec, it plays a key role in social issues. "It is
through openness, recognition of diversity and hospitality that Desjardins
wants to showcase its human values. We strongly believe that being open to
diversity is not only beneficial for Desjardins but also for our members,
employees and officers," stated Ms. Monique F. Leroux, Chair of the Board,
President and CEO, Desjardins Group.
In addition, on the occasion of the Semaine québécoise des rencontres
interculturelles and the 400th anniversary of Québec City, Desjardins will
participate in the Rallye de la diversité which aims at promoting cultural
diversity within Québec's society. As a result, a group of cyclists, including
a few Desjardins employees, took to the road yesterday to make the journey
from Longueuil to Québec City. The rally will end on September 26.
