Desjardins caisses in Greater Montréal to accept donations for forest fire victims in Greece

MONTREAL, Sept. 4 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Group, the largest financial
institution in Québec, calls upon its network of caisses in Greater Montréal
to accept donations for forest fire victims in Greece. Desjardins takes part
in an initiative launched by CKDG-FM 105.1, a multicultural radio station
predominantly dedicated to serving the Greek-speaking community in Montreal.
Until September 14, cash donations will be accepted at Desjardins caisses
in Greater Montréal, including the south shore and the northern crown of the
metropolitan area. Money collected will be used to meet the most urgent needs
of the victims of these devastating fires. Donations will be deposited into an
account on behalf of those suffering in Greece and turned over to the Canadian
Red Cross, which is heading up this collection of funds.
"The solidarity of Desjardins Group extends well beyond our borders.
Whether it be to contribute to the well-being of communities here or abroad,
Desjardins is always ready to offer assistance, which is one of our most
precious cooperative values. Our hearts go out to the Greek communities
affected by these tragic events," stated Alban D'Amours, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Desjardins Group.
