Deadmau5 Opens Up New CE Centre in Ottawa

DNA Presents Launches Inaugural Pulse Concert with Award-Winning DJ as CE Centre's Premiere Event

OTTAWA, Nov. 1, 2011 /CNW/ - DNA Presents (formerly Projekt Events and Marquis Entertainment), Ottawa's leading marketing and promotions company, announced today that award-winning DJ, Deadmau5, will headline the first annual Pulse concert event which will take place on December 27, 2011 at the new CE Centre for its grand opening event.

Canadian DJ, Deadmau5, is globally renowned as one of the most innovative electronic live acts. Known as a dance music phenomenon from Toronto, Deadmau5 has become a key player in the music industry. Listed at 4th place in the 2011 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs, Deadmau5 is an incredible award-winning artist and celebrated Canadian, even performing during the medal presentations at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.  He received three International Dance Music Awards in 2010, won the Juno for Dance Recording of the Year for the past four years, three International Dance Music Awards in 2010, and was nominated for a 2009 Grammy for Best Remixed Recording.

Deadmau5 will be the first to headline Pulse, the new annual event that will feature some of the biggest DJ talent in the world. The event, which will be held annually between Christmas Day and New Year's Eve, is the first event of its kind in the National Capital Region. Pulse will complement DNA Presents' current annual Canada Day event, the Escapade Music Festival.

Deadmau5's performance will be the first official event at the new CE Centre, which opens in December 2011. The 220,000 square foot facility will become Eastern Ontario's largest and best-equipped purpose-built event space, serving event, consumer and trade show industries of any size.

Accommodating up to 8,000 people, Pulse featuring Deadmau5 is expected to be the highlight of the 2011 holiday season.
