David Spitz Promoted to Executive Vice President & General Sales Manager, Theatrical Domestic Distribution, for Lionsgate

    17-Year Industry Veteran Assumes Expanded Role as Lionsgate Continues to
    Grow Its Motion Picture Distribution Pipeline

David Spitz, an 11-year veteran of Lionsgate (NYSE:   LGF) and its predecessor
companies, has been named Executive Vice President & General Sales Manager of
Theatrical Domestic Distribution for the Company as the leading independent
filmed entertainment studio continues to grow its annual portfolio of motion
picture releases, it was announced today by Lionsgate Theatrical Films
President Tom Ortenberg and Lionsgate Theatrical Distribution President Steve
Rothenberg, to whom he reports.

    Spitz, part of the motion picture management team responsible for the
successful distribution of recent box office hits such as SAW III, CRANK,
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH and THE DESCENT, will continue to work closely with
Rothenberg and Ortenberg on selection of release dates, strategic release
patterns and oversight of national settlements and collections for Lionsgate's
theatrical slate, which has recently grown to 18-20 feature films annually,
including approximately 15 wide releases a year.  Spitz will also continue to
work closely with Lionsgate's marketing team in planning and executing
integrated marketing and distribution strategies.

installments have grossed more than $400 million in worldwide box office, the
DADDY'S LITTLE GIRLS), the 2006 Best Picture Academy Award (R) winner CRASH,
MONTH and the independent blockbuster phenomenon THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.
    Lionsgate's upcoming theatrical slate includes THE CONDEMNED, starring
Stone Cold Steve Austin, HOSTEL 2, GOOD LUCK, CHUCK, teaming Jessica Alba and
Dane Cook, WAR, starring international action stars Jet Li and Jason Statham,
3:10 TO YUMA, starring Russell Crowe, SAW 4, THE EYE, starring Jessica Alba,
RAMBO 4, starring Sylvester Stallone, and FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, pairing Jet Li
and Jackie Chan.
    Spitz began his entertainment industry career as a film buyer for Mann
Theaters, became regional branch manager for MGM Distribution and then held a
series of progressively responsible executive positions for LIVE
Entertainment, Artisan Entertainment and Lionsgate following its December 2003
acquisition of Artisan.  Prior to his promotion, Spitz served for five years
as Senior Vice President of Domestic Distribution for Lionsgate and its
predecessor companies.
