TORONTO, Jan. 30 /CNW/ - Move over ballroom. Wave goodbye jazz hands. A
new kind of krump hits the dance floor when Randy Jackson Presents America's
Best Dance Crew. It's a new MuchExclusive series that's sure to have feet
movin' when it premieres February 10 at 7 p.m. ET. Fans can watch full
episodes at immediately following the televised broadcast.
American Idol judge Randy Jackson is executive producer of this hot new
series searching for the dopest dancers around. This is the first televised
competition for full hip-hop crews, rather than individual performers. Mario
Lopez (Dancing With The Stars) hosts, alongside a panel of judges which
include J.C. Chasez ((*)N Sync), Shane Sparks (You Got Served, So You Think You
Can Dance) and hip-pop sensation Lil Mama. The 12 coolest crews chosen from
national auditions go head-to-head in a special two-hour casting call on
February 3 at 8 p.m. ET. The judges choose eight teams to return for the
90-minute series premiere on February 10 at 7 p.m. ET.
Each edition involves a new challenge the teams must tackle in order to
dazzle the audience. Anything goes when tensions rise and the crews attempt to
recreate a music video dance routine, tell the story of a feature film or put
their own spin on some classic moves. The two weakest teams face off with the
judges deciding who didn't step it up. In the end, only one crew reigns
supreme on the dance floor and wins a cash prize and touring contract.
