Curious Canadian TV Fans Dictate What's Old is New Again - And They're Dancing Up an Online Storm

Surging search results from Yahoo! Canada Buzz Index find dancing shows
and retro programs most popular TV web searches this fall season

TORONTO, Sept. 29 /CNW/ - Dance-themed shows are dominating the keyboards
and retro series have made a triumphant return, as Yahoo! Canada today
released its list of the most searched television shows while uncovering some
interesting trends.
Canadians appear to be doing the September Shuffle as Dancing with the
Stars waltzed its way into the top spot of the most searched shows while
So You Think You Can Dance Canada also landed among the Top 10 list.
Additionally, what's hot amongst "new" shows seems to be what's "old" - both
remade retro favourites 90210 and Knight Rider appear in the top 3 on the most
searched new shows list.
Tina Fey and 30 Rock also spiked after Emmy success - or perhaps a
popular Palin parody. Fey is currently the most searched TV star, and her show
sits in the number two spot of breakout shows - shows that have gone from
little to no searches to a large number of Buzz Index searches.
"Our results show that Canadian's viewing habits and interests are as
varied and diverse as our citizens," says Huw Evans, Manager, Search
Editorial, Yahoo! Canada. "From celebrity twinkle toes to lifesaving doctors,
harlequin-like romances and talented Americans, we see a wide variety of
interest in television programs and viewers are turning to the web to delve in
even deeper to some of their favourite shows."
