TORONTO, Sept. 25 /CNW/ - On a night featuring the return of several
high-profile and heavily-hyped series, CTV claimed the No. 1 and No. 2 shows
of the evening, winning every timeslot in Primetime and three out of the Top 4
shows on television:
1. The Season 6 premiere of CSI: Miami on CTV was the most-watched
program of the night on Canadian television with 2.2 million viewers.
CSI: Miami crushed the series premiere of Journeyman (NBC/Global;
811,000) by a whopping 172% from 10-11 p.m.
2. The No. 2 program last night was the Season 5 premiere of Dancing With
the Stars with 1.93 million viewers on CTV, outdrawing both Heroes
(NBC/Global, 1.66 million) and Prison Break (FOX/Global, 1.43 million)
from 8-9:30 p.m. It was the biggest season premiere ever for Dancing With
the Stars on CTV, up 41% compared to last fall.
3. The Season 5 premiere of Corner Gas on CTV delivered 1.24 million
viewers, up slightly (5%) vs. last season's debut episode. It's the 70th
original broadcast in a row for the series that has delivered an audience
of more than one million viewers.
CTV Evening News was the No. 4 program of the night with 1.5 million
