CTV, Damon and Running the Sahara
CTV's Festival Headquarters at 299 Queen West will host yet another
hot-ticket party when Damon and his friends are feted following the special
presentation of Running the Sahara on Saturday, Sept. 8. It's the third
exclusive event announced for CTV's Festival Headquarters, adding to its
growing reputation as one of this year's Festival hotspots.

Running the Sahara is narrated and executive produced by Matt Damon. The
documentary raises awareness for H2O Africa, a clean water initiative partly
founded by Damon and his partners at LivePlanet that highlights the water
crises in Africa and gathers support for clean water programs in critical
areas. The film follows three men, including Canada's Ray Zahab, who run
across the Sahara Desert in their quest to bring the water crises to light.
Their expedition took them across six countries, lasted 111 days, measured
nearly 7,000 kilometres and had them fighting through injury, extreme weather
and fatigue. The film's narrative follows the runners, each step toward the
finish line building in great anticipation of answering the question: Can this
amazing human feat truly be possible?

CTV, Damon and ONE X ONE
For the second year running, CTV the exclusive media partner for the
ONE X ONE benefit. The third annual fundraising gala will be held at Toronto's
Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on Sunday, Sept. 9. Hosted by
Matt Damon with Canada AM's Seamus O'Regan as Master of Ceremonies for the
second year in a row, the event will be taped by CTV for a future special
produced by Barry Avrich. As the exclusive media sponsor, only CTV cameras
will be rolling at the A-list event, meaning that only eTalk and CTV's
additional entertainment properties can provide coverage from the performance
and party. eTalk will host an exclusive backstage lounge and green room for
ONE X ONE's performers and honourees.

Featuring performances by Shakira, ONE X ONE ambassador Nikki Yanofsky,
Grammy Award-winning musician, producer and humanitarian Wyclef Jean and the
African Children's Choir among others, this year's event will honour Golden
Globe Award winner Richard Gere, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, Assembly of
First Nations National Chief Phil Fontaine and supermodel and philanthropist
Petra Nemcova with the 2007 Difference Award. These awards are presented
annually and recognize individuals who have dedicated their lives to fighting
child poverty and suffering around the world. ONE X ONE will also honour

commitment to providing aid, resources and inspiration in his native country
through the Yéle Haiti movement.
