Creating A Brighter Future For Ontario Families

Strong Local Team With A Strong Plan Committed To Best-Educated Workforce, Jobs

RICHMOND HILL, ON, Sept. 12, 2011 /CNW/ - Premier Dalton McGuinty highlighted the Ontario Liberal Plan to build a high-skills, high-wage economy during a Chinese Moon Festival celebration in Richmond Hill today.

"The Chinese Moon Festival is all about being together — it's a good time to reflect on how far we've come, because what Ontarians have achieved together is nothing short of amazing," McGuinty said. "Whether you're raising a family in Richmond Hill, Markham, Oak Ridges or anywhere in between, our plan to move forward into a better future for your family is working."

McGuinty was joined at the event by Richmond Hill candidate Reza Moridi, Michael Chan and fellow Ontario Liberal Party candidates.

"Our plan is to build a highly skilled workforce so that we can manufacture innovative clean technologies right here in Ontario," said Premier Dalton McGuinty. "We're making Ontario the North American powerhouse for clean-tech manufacturing."

The Ontario Liberals have worked to make Ontario an attractive place for clean-energy companies to invest with the world-renowned Green Energy Act, a highly competitive tax system and a highly-skilled workforce. The plan is working. The clean-energy industry alone is creating 50,000 new jobs.

The PCs and NDP would kill the clean energy industry and tens of thousands of jobs.

The Hudak PCs have a $14 billion hole in their platform — that means deep cuts that will put our economy, education and health care at risk. The Horwath NDP would introduce a crushing $9 billion in job-killing taxes.  Both would take Ontario off track at the worst time.

"With uncertainty in the global economy, Ontario families need experience and a steady hand," said Richmond Hill candidate, Reza Moridi.  "That's the kind of strong leadership only Dalton McGuinty can provide — backed by his plan for a high-skills, high-wage economy. There's only one way to go — forward, together with the Ontario Liberals."
