Cookies Prove to Be a Recipe for Success! - National Bank Financial Group Raises $465,853 to Benefit the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec

MONTREAL, Feb. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - National Bank Financial Group's sixth annual fundraising campaign for the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec was a resounding success. Thousands of little cookie tins designed by Kettö sold like hot cakes! The public's record-breaking enthusiasm resulted in a total donation of $465,853 to benefit the two organizations. Everyone involved can be proud of a job well done!

"Year after year, National Bank Financial Group's employees and clients exceed expectations to help an increasing number of children who would otherwise start their day without eating a proper breakfast", said the chair of the campaign, Kathleen Zicat, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Service - Personal Banking, National Bank Financial Group. "The results speak for themselves and attest of the generosity and the public support of Breakfast Clubs across the country."

This ambitious initiative was made possible thanks to the enthusiastic participation and generosity of Anne Desjardins, executive chef and co-owner of L'Eau à la Bouche restaurant, hotel and spa in Sainte-Adèle, who developed an exclusive cookie recipe with the endorsement of nutritionist Isabelle Huot. It was also the result of the creativity and imagination of Julie Saint-Onge-Drouin and Catherine Fafard, the two founders of Kettö, and it's thanks to the efforts of La Petite Bretonne vice-president Dominique Bohec and his team that the delectable delights were prepared, baked, packaged and distributed to each branch.

"I would like to thank everyone who took part in the campaign. The donations we received will help bring us even closer to our annual goal," explained Daniel Germain, founder and president of the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec. "In Quebec, we hope to open 30 new clubs by the end of the school year— so THANK YOU to everyone for your generous contributions!"

About the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec  - When he founded the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec 15 years ago, Daniel Germain wanted to provide a hot, nutritious, delicious breakfast to children who were at risk of going to school hungry. He also wanted them to have a chance to start each school day like their fellow students: with a full stomach and a mind open to learning. Last year, thanks to the many donations received and the support of numerous partners, the Club's 3,500 volunteers welcomed 16,000 children and served some 2.3 million breakfasts in 273 schools across Quebe
