Conservatives Would Put Auto Sector Progress At Risk

TORONTO, Sept. 11 /CNW/ - In four short years, the McGuinty government
has worked with Ontarians to help make Ontario the leading auto producing
jurisdiction in North America three years running.
Through the $500 million Auto Sector Investment Fund we have leveraged $7
billion in new investments in the auto sector, which will create and protect
7,000 direct jobs.
Ford's $1 billion redevelopment of the Oakville Assembly Complex - that
included job and investment commitments from Ford - was part of that success.
The McGuinty government worked with Ford to see a new project that will see a
focus on R&D funding for fuel cells - the future of the auto industry.
The Conservatives will put this all at risk. They think our auto strategy
is "a wrong headed way to go."
The Ontario Liberals are the only party committed to seeing the auto
industry succeed and thrive in Ontario.
