Coniagas announces changes to its Board

    TORONTO, Aug. 29 /CNW/ - Coniagas Resources Limited ("Coniagas" or the
"Company") (TSX-V: "CNY") announces that Mr. Donald Bubar has advised that due
to an unforeseen potential conflict he will be unable to serve as a director
of the Corporation.
    The Board of Directors has today appointed Mr. Maurice Colson, MBA, as a
director to fill the resulting vacancy. Mr. Colson, aged 65, has more than 25
years experience in various executive levels of the investment and corporate
finance industry with a particular focus on the resource sector. Mr. Colson is
a director of several mining companies listed in the Toronto Stock Exchange
and the TSX Venture Exchange.
    In addition, Mr. Warren Armstrong has stepped down as Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of Coniagas after more than 35 years of continuous service
although he will continue as a director.
    The Board wishes to thank Mr. Armstrong for his contribution to the
Corporation over the years. Mr. Colson has been appointed President and Chief
Executive Officer effective today.
