Compass Group Canada Teams with Rothsay Biodiesel to Reduce Greenhouse Gases

    TORONTO, Feb. 3 /CNW/ - Compass Group Canada is pleased to announce its
partnership with Rothsay, one of Canada's largest rendering companies and a
leader in the Canadian biodiesel industry, as the preferred supplier for the
collection of waste cooking oils and grease from Compass-run foodservice
facilities across Canada. (Specifically, from Manitoba to Newfoundland.)
    While the recycling of cooking oils and grease may now be a commonplace
environmental practice within the foodservice industry, Compass's contract
with Rothsay goes a step beyond. Rothsay will use all of the waste oils and
grease collected for the production of biodiesel in their Montreal plant.
Biodiesel is a non-toxic biodegradable fuel, producing 40 - 60 percent fewer
green house gas emissions than petroleum. This important commitment to Compass
is a sustainable activity that will help us reduce our impact on the
