CO2 Solution to make presentation on Enzymatic carbon Capture at Sustainable Chemistry Summit

Outstanding shares: 79,187,836

QUEBEC, Sept. 14, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - CO2 Solution Inc. (TSXV: CST) announced today that the company will make a presentation on Enzymatic CO2 Capture:  A Sustainable Chemistry Opportunity; highlighting CO2 Solution's patented enzymatic technology platform that enables the efficient capture and mitigation of carbon dioxide from the effluent gases of fossil fueled power plants and other emissions intensive industries.

The presentation is being made at the GreenCentre Canada Sustainable Chemistry Summit 2011 taking place in Kingston, Ontario, Canada on September 17th at 10:10 a.m. Eastern Time. Presenting will be Jonathan Carley, Vice-President, Business Development, CO2 Solution. The presentation will provide the basis of the technology, details of industrial scale-up collaborations, as well as CO2 Solution's experiences in developing and commercializing this technology in the context of the Canadian and global clean technology arena.

Enzymatic CO2 capture technology can overcome the cost challenges associated with conventional CO2 capture methods, while leveraging existing chemical processes already known to the industry, providing an effective path to market. Recent announcements made by CO2 Solution's enzyme development partner, Codexis, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDXS), elaborated on the development of customized carbonic anhydrase (CA) enzymes that could catalyze carbon capture under industrial conditions. Data showed CA performance has been improved by about two million fold over natural forms of the enzyme.  Evolved CA enzymes are functional and stable in relatively inexpensive energy efficient solvents.  Use of carbon capture solvents with fully developed enzymes is expected to substantially reduce the costs and energy requirements to capture CO2 produced by coal-fired power plants and other large industrial sources.

About the Sustainable Chemistry Summit:
The Sustainable Chemistry Summit: From Lab to Market offers a rare, firsthand look at green chemistry's innovators and their work in university research labs and in industry. Aimed at industry, researchers and commercialization professionals, the three-day gathering will highlight new directions in green chemistry research and product development. The Summit is presented by GreenCentre Canada, a national Centre of Excellence for commercializing early-stage green chemistry discoveries generated by academic researchers and industry. Funded by the province of Ontario, the Government of Canada, and industry sponsors, GreenCentre Canada is dedicated to developing environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional chemical and manufacturing products and practices. It is governed and operated with the assistance of industry sponsors from across the chemical value chain.
