CN Tower Lights Up for New Year's Countdown to 2008

TORONTO, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - On December 31, 2007 the CN Tower will count
down the last 10 seconds of 2007 using its new architectural lighting effects
to usher in 2008, providing a New Year's Eve focal point for Toronto and the
City's annual celebrations at Nathan Phillips Square and a great finale to the
City's Cavalcade of Lights celebration.
"We're looking forward to being a special new part of Toronto's New
Year's tradition. We think Toronto residents and visitors will embrace it as
enthusiastically as they did the new lighting system itself. New York City has
the Times Square Ball and now Toronto can look to the CN Tower each New Year's
Eve," said Jack Robinson, Chief Operating Officer of the CN Tower.
The CN Tower launched its exterior lighting in June 2007 featuring a
programmable LED lighting system with 1,330 fixtures capable of millions of
colours and effects. The lighting has been used to acknowledge special
holidays and citywide events and this is the first New Year's Eve celebration
that the CN Tower will play a part in.
