Class Action - Laundry Fees Refund

MONTREAL, May 13 /CNW Telbec/ - On the 7th of August 2007, the Court of
Appeals confirmed that residents of Long-Term care facilities (CHSLD) who did
not receive paid laundry services by their facility are entitled to a refund
of fees incurred, or to compensation if laundry was done at home by friends or
family. If they are deceased their heirs can make a claim on their behalf. Of
the 60, 000 people concerned in Québec, roughly 9, 000 have made claims.
"The period during which a claim can be made is coming to an end very
quickly, and we have received a fraction of the claims that could have been
made, only 9, 000 out of a possible 60, 000. In fact, the deadline for receipt
of claims if June 14th, 2009. Certain people are still entitled to
compensation that can be as much as 5, 000 dollars. To exercise this right,
simply fill out and send us the claim form", mentioned Me Philippe Larochelle,
the lawyer defending the individuals involved.
To receive their reimbursement, the individuals concerned, their families
or their heirs should obtain and complete the form provided. All forms must be
received in our office before June 14th, 2009. This form is available in every
courthouse in Québec and on the website or at the
CHSLDs concerned. Persons who have questions regarding the content or how and
where to send the form can communicate freely with Mes Larochelle or Charron,
whose details appear on the form.
