City of Toronto community centres and arenas closed and programs cancelled today

    TORONTO, March 8 /CNW/ - Due to today's weather conditions, the City of
Toronto announces the following closures and cancellations to ensure the
safety of staff and participants:

    -  Community centres and arenas operated by Parks, Forestry and
       Recreation will close at 4 p.m. today for the remainder of the day,
       and all recreation programs, drop-in programs and permits are
       cancelled. All community centres will be open and programs will run on
       Sunday, March 9, unless otherwise notified.

    -  Outdoor artificial ice rinks are currently closed. Parks, Forestry and
       Recreation staff are working to open outdoor artificial ice rinks as
       soon as possible.

    The City's Ski and Snowboard Centres at Earl Bales Park and Centennial
Park will remain open.
