CIC Energy NI 43-101 Report on Mmamabula Energy Complex Updated Mineral Resource Estimate Filed on SEDAR

Corp. ("CIC Energy" or the "Company") (TSX:ELC, BSE: CIC Energy) is pleased to
announce that, further to its August 14, 2008 news release, a National
Instrument 43-101 ("NI 43-101") technical report has been filed on SEDAR for
the Company's Mmamabula Coal Field in Botswana, Africa.
    The technical report is entitled "CIC Energy Corp.: Mmamabula Energy
Complex, Southeastern Botswana, Project No. J912, National Instrument 43-101
Sixth Technical Report" and dated September 26, 2008.
    CIC Energy's Sixth Technical Report includes the new mineral resource
estimate for the Border Block at the Mmamabula East licence area and the
updated mineral resource estimates for the Dovedale, Serorome and Mookane
Blocks at Mmamabula East. The previously reported mineral resource estimate
for CIC Energy's Mmamabula South licence area remains unchanged and has been
included in the Sixth Technical Report for completeness.
